Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Inks are made from high-quality pigments in acrylic. We understand the calligraphy is a noble, old-art form and we were determined to do it justice – the 18 colors in this range are lightfast for long-lasting results. Our calligraphy inks are not water-proof, which means they can be reactivated with water. For best results use a brush or a dip pen.
Paper for Calligraphy Inks:
Rough surface papers For practice work with calligraphy Ink, Layout paper is recommended. For finished pieces, any paper that will not feather, bleed, scratch or wrinkle is suitable. Smooth cartridge paper or Hot pressed watercolor paper will allow a pen or brush to move evenly and smoothly over the surface with minimum breakage. However, Rough surface papers will also give a broken effect and ragged edge to the pen or brush stroke which may be desired by some calligraphers.
