Drawing Inks - Henry Collection Ink Pack;
An introductory selection of 8 colors in 14ml bottles. Includes: Canary Yellow, Orange, Carmine, Violet, Blue, Emerald, Nut Brown, Black. Actual contents may vary.
The Winsor & Newton Henry Collection Drawing Ink Pack is an excellent introduction to the bold and beautiful world of pen and ink, complete with a booklet explaining different techniques.
The Henry Collection comes with a selection of very bright, bold colors from Liquid Indian (Black), Blue, Scarlet, Canary Yellow, Emerald, Nut Brown, Orange, and Violet. We found when we were experimenting with the Henry collection that the scarlet was very bright on the watercolor paper and the orange was very opaque. Made with soluble dyes combined with a shellac binder, they’re non-permanent (except for Black, Liquid Indian) and water-soluble but water-resistant when dry. That means you can apply them thick for a rich gloss finish, dilute them with distilled water to increase transparency for wash work, or work over them once dry without fear of bleeding.
Superior strength and brilliance of color;
Winsor & Newton Drawing Inks are made from high-quality dyes in a Shellac binder. The use of dyes produces bright colors, making these the perfect inks to create vibrant artworks. All of our drawing inks are water-resistant. The white, Indian black, and gold are also pigmented, meaning they are lightfast. All inks can be used with a brush or dip pen. There are 26 colors in the range, loved by designers, artists, and illustrators.
There are a huge variety of ways to experiment with the inks. You can use them in a traditional pen and ink drawing style using a dip pen to sketch scenes with etched details.
As we have demonstrated in a portrait of Henry and William you can use them with brushes. To create the images of Winsor and Newton in their colorful portraits we used masking fluid to outline their features and mixed the inks.
Brilliant Colors:
Formulated from a series of soluble dyes in a shellac solution, our drawing inks offer unrivaled strength and color brilliance.
Color Mixing:
The drawing inks allow overlaying of different colors for attractive color mixes. All the colors are water resistant except Liquid Indian Ink, Gold, and Silver.
Fully Intermixable:
All the colors are inter-mixable. Gold and Silver should be added to other inks in small quantities to avoid thickening. Mixtures of Gold and Silver should not be stored together due to adverse chemical reactions.
