XL Mix-Media watercolor paper is exceptionally strong and durable. It is designed to withstand repeated washes and wet work, as well as any artistic experimentation. Produced by cold pressing and has a density of 300 g/m2. Its rough surface is suitable for most fine arts, especially watercolors, thin layers of acrylics, pastels, and any dry graphic materials.

Canson XL Watercolour albums feature 30 sheets of 300 gsm student-quality paper, ideal for a variety of watercolor and wet techniques.

This paper is acid-free, with a cold-pressed texture. Its surface formulation ensures excellent wet erasability.

When working wet on such paper, it is extremely difficult to achieve beautiful spreading of paint or strong blurring, because. Such paper quickly absorbs water and its surface dries.

Understanding the 3 surfaces or textures of watercolor paper;

• Rough – A pronounced, varied texture, great for a textured loose feel.
• Cold-pressed (NOT) – It’s the paper texture in-between rough and hot-pressed paper, having a slightly textured surface this paper is sometimes called NOT.
• Hot-pressed (HP) – Watercolour paper with a very smooth surface and almost no tooth. Good for painting detailed paintings and creating very smooth washes.
• The Not stands for “Not Hot pressed”.
